Chelle
Hi, I'm the Owner & Head
Instructor at The Dance
Academy.  I took dance
from Mary Joyce Klotzbach
in Salina from age 3
through High School.
During High School, I also
taught for Mary Joyce, as
well as danced 4 years on my HS dance team, and I headed the Parks &
Recreation's Summer Dance program for 6 summers. I received a Danceline
scholarship to Barton County where I competed at national dance championships,
& I also taught dance at Encore Dance Studio in Great Bend for 2 years.  I've done
choreography for Ell-Saline High, Sacred Heart High, Canton-Galva High & Lincoln
High Schools.  I have also been a judge for a dance competition in Lincoln, NE and
dance tryouts at K-State and Kansas high schools in Canton, Lincoln and Wilson.  I
attended K-State where I graduated with a BA degree in Psychology and took a
few KSU dance classes, while I taught 4 years for Washington Dance Studio in
Manhattan & 5 years for M&J Dance Academy in Salina (owned by Mary Joyce's
daughters, Jean & Marian).  When I moved back to Salina, I coached the first
season of the Cagerz Girrlz in 1999.  I bought, relocated & renamed The Dance
Academy in June, 2001.  In 2002, I married Scott, who works for Salina Media
Group on Y93.7, & in Oct., 2003, we had Jett.  A career highlight for me was in Dec.
2006, when I was asked to choreograph the halftime performance for the Holiday
Bowl in San Diego.

Alyse
My name is Alyse Lambert, and I took dance from Chelle from 7th-12th grades,
and now she has given me the wonderful opportunity to teach a second year
at The Dance Academy on Monday nights.  I graduated from South High in
2004 where I participated in Peppers, their dance team.  I graduated from
Barton County Community College  in 2006 with an Associates degree in
Science/Pre-Dental Hygiene.  I also received a full tuition and books
scholarship to be on their dance team, the Cougar Dance Force.  It was the
best time of my life and I must admit I miss all those girls.  I graduated from
VoTech with a dental assisting degree and now work full time at a dentist's
office.  I have a puppy, her name is Maisie and she is the sweetest little puppy
ever.  And just to warn you, I talk about her like she is my kid.
Rachel
Hi, I'm Rachel! This year I'm a senior at South High. I am currently on the
Peppers Dance Team and have danced since I was four years old. Before
becoming a Pepper, I was a Varsity Cheerleader both my freshman and
sophomore year.  Throughout high school I have been involved with STUCO,
Relay for Life, Box City, as well as volunteered at my church, the hospital, and
the library! During the summers I work for the Parks and Rec Fun in the Sun Day
Camps.
After high school I will attend Wichita State on a full-ride scholarship
where I will major in business marketing! Although this is my first year teaching
dance, I'm way more than excited! I can't wait to meet my students, and I hope to
make it a great year!
Bridgette

Hello, my name is Bridgette Blomquist. I graduated from Southeast of Saline in 2005.
While in high school I was a varsity cheerleader for four years. I was the co-captain my
sophomore year and captain my junior and senior years. During high school I was in
Big Brothers Big Sisters, FCCLA, and Madrigals, STOP the Violence, Teen Trust, and
Varsity Club. 4-H has been a big part of my life; in 2005 I was crowned the Tri-Rivers
Fair Queen. Currently I am attending Hutchinson Community College , where I started
as an elementary major and then changed to an early childhood education major. This
year will be my third year on the HCC Dragon Dolls Dance Team. We dance at all of the
home football and basketball games as well as the NJCAA Tournament. My dance
experience started when I was three years old in Texas , once we moved to Kansas I
took a break from dancing for a while. I attended the Dance Academy for junior and
senior year of high school. My little sister’s name is Layne and she will be in second
grade next year, she has taken dance lessons from Chelle for three years. This is not
my first time teaching dance. I taught dance for a year and a half at the Inman Wellness
Center in Inman Kansas , where I was the only teacher. I am looking forward to
working with all of you and can’t wait to get started. This year is going to be fun!
Megan

Hi! I’m Megan Robl, and I am a senior this year at Salina Central. I  began  taking dance
at the Dance Academy when I was in sixth grade. Before  that, I  took twirling from
Shannon’s Stars for three and a half years.   During  middle school and my first two
years of high school, I was a varsity  cheerleader, and a co-captain my sophomore
year.  I then joined the VET   Squad (Victory Every Time Squad, in case you were
wondering), as  co-captain  my junior year and captain this year.  At school, I am also
Student  Council  President, co-editor of the Pylon (our school newspaper), and a
member  of  National Honor Society and the School Climate Committee.  My weekends
are  usually spent working at the McDonald’s at the intersection of Ohio &   Crawford,
although during the school year I don’t work very much :).   As far  as future plans go,
I’m thinking about going to K-State, although I  am  currently undecided on what to
study.    While this is my first year of   teaching dance, I completed the fifty-hour
internship last year, as  well as  subbed.  I love dancing and performing, and I am
delighted to have the  opportunity to work with everyone this year!
Laura
This year is Laura's 6th year teaching our younger dancers (she took a year off last
year).  She also works for a local realtor company, and is a Mother of a 6-yr-old boy,
Joshua.  With God-given patience and understanding, and an eye for precision, she is
one of our best "Itty-Bitties" teachers.  Her dependability and organization make her a
favorite among students, parents and staff.  Now, if we could just get her converted to
K-State, she'd be perfect!  :)
